Tips for Getting the Hairstyle You Really Want

Tell your stylist exactly what you want. Providing some general parameters is much more helpful than “I don’t know.”

If you really don’t know what style you want, come a bit early before your reserved time so that you can look through the many hair style magazines. You will no doubt find some pictures of what you might like to share with your stylist during the

consultation.

If you are a new guest, make sure your stylist knows how often you are able to come in for a cut. If you are only able to visit a few times a year, you stylist will suggest a more low-maintenance style.

If you are not 1000% satisfied with the cut for any reason, please let the stylist or our salon manager know. We want to have a chance to revisit the service and make sure you are completely happy!

Beautiful, Healthy Nails

Answers to your questions about nail enhancements
We’ve consulted the pros in our nail department, and asked them what nail questions they hear most often. Here are their responses:

I am considering some sort of a nail enhancement but am not sure which is right for me?

Schedule an appointment for a new set of nails and we will help you to determine which enhancements are right for you. First, we will analyze the current condition of your nails, and then discuss what it is you hope to achieve with your enhancements.

Here are some of the things we like to consider before making a recommendation:

What type of work you do at home and on-the-job?
How often your hands are in water?
Do you have any chemical sensitivities, or allergies?
How long do you plan on wearing your enhancements?
And finally, what kind of investment are you willing to make to regular nail maintenance to achieve your goal?

What are the options?

Acrylic Nails: Acrylic is the strongest form of enhancement, can be worn on almost any kind of

nail bed, and offers limited flexibility. Acrylic can be soaked off with acetone.

Gel Nails: UV-cured gels provide more flexibility than acrylics, while retaining a similar look. Gel is, however, acetone-resistant and must be filed off.

Both Gel and acrylic can be applied in pink and white for a “permanent French polish” look.

Silk Wraps: Silk material is applied to the nail plate with resin in order to create a coating that increases the strength of the nails. Silk wraps can be applied with or without tip extensions. This is a great option for someone wanting nails for only a short period of time, because the wraps soak-off quickly in acetone with little or no damage to the natural nail. Silk is also a great option for clients who are especially sensitive to certain chemicals.

What is the shellac process I have heard about?

Shellac is a fairly new product made by CND, which combines the natural nail-friendly and easy-to-remove elements of traditional nail lacquers with the staying power of a gel polish. Shellac provides a coating for a manicure that most people find does not chip for at least two weeks, but does not require as much nail buffing as a gel polish does. The shellac is very easily removed (with a 5-7 minute soak-off) and since they are UV light cured, you can leave the Salon instantly with dry nails!

Summer Skin Care Tips

It’s not so much about the SPF on your sunscreen as how often you apply and re-apply. Apply 20 minutes before sun exposure and re-apply at least every two hours you are in the sun. Dermaware Screenplay SPF 30 is tinted and moisturizing.

A New Face at the Front Desk!

The new face at the front desk is Vanessa who is a native Tucsonan. Vanessa has worked in salons since being old enough to work and studied aesthetics at the Tucson College of Beauty. She enjoys taking her adorable Basset hounds, Mollie and Charlie for walks on Mt. Lemmon.

Apply a hydrating leave-in conditioner before you

A new Anti-Aging Facial!

Lisa has created this facial for those who would like to look younger… that’s just about everybody! Our Anti-Aging Facial includes two special treatment masks:

The first mask is a Bare Fruit mask which dissolves any dry, dead skin and helps for more absorption of nutrients.

The second is a three-layer mask customized to suit your skin’s specific needs. Typically, we apply Vital A Microgel, Vital B Hydrogel (which contains hyaluronic acid, drawing moisture to the cells for a more hydrated appearance) and our popular Feed your Face Mask which contains nourishing vitamins and pure essential oils.
